On August 29th, 1967, the finale episode of popular 60s television show, "The Fugitive", titled "The Judgement: Part II" aired. "The Fugitive" was a crime drama series starring David Janssen, about a physician who is wrongly convicted of his wife's murder, and unjustly sentenced to death. The show aired for four seasons, with 120 51-minute episodes produced. The first three seasons were filmed in black-and-white, while the fourth and final season was filmed in color. When the final episode aired, it became the most watched television episode in history up to that point. 25.7 million U.S. households (45.9 percent of American households with a television set) tuned in to watch, meaning that 78 million people tuned in to watch. The record was held until November 21, 1980, when the Dallas episode titled "Who Done It?" was viewed by 41.7 million households. Today, the record is held by the final episode of "M*A*S*H", "Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen", where 50.15 million households tuned in to watch!
