On February 14th, 1962, the video game "Spacewar!" was released on the PDP-1 minicomputer. "Spacewar!" is considered one of the first video games created, and was the first video game that could be played on multiple computer installations. The game was developed at MIT, and served as the basis for two Atari-created video games - "Computer Space", which was released in 1971 and was one of the first arcade games, and "Asteriods", which was released in 1979 and became one of the first video games to be issued a copyright.
